2014 News
The stud commenced in 1978 with the purchase of the Australian Pony Dranoel Desert Lass (Desert Star X Lowlynn Jenny), who was in foal to Brookdale Snow (Glenway Sunshine X Lumena Zara).  The result was our first filly Canyon Snowdrift.  Desert Lass produced many fillies & only one colt and her bloodlines are still in the stud today.  Several Australian stallions were used in the early days, Wandarra Mr Perkins (by Sir Percy of Paxhall(imp)), Greyholme Silver Beau, Bereen Hailstone (by Revel Hailstone(imp)) and Albyn Mario. After moving to Manilla in 1993, after many quiet years with the ponies, we started showing & breeding again in earnest.  The Welsh B stallion Bolagamy Thatcher (Mirinda Sovereign X Eelah Baroness) was purchased and crossed extremely well with the Australian mares.  He has produced many prize winning stock over various breeds of mares.   We currently have 2 Welsh B stallions – Bolagamy Thatcher & Imperial Puccini by Eyarth Tigra(imp)  and the Australian Pony stallion –  Canyon Sorrento Moon (Buena Vista Talisman from Wangatar Sophie). We are breeding quality ponies with emphasis on movement and temperament.

In 2014, saw us return to the National Pony of the Year Show with a group of four ponies all with invitations to the Bamborough Champion of Champions In-Hand final. Keyi Wildflower was awarded top 3 of Welsh Sect. B group. We had a great weekend coming home with Best Australian Pony Gelding for the second year with Canyon Westminster owned by Christan Trainor.
We had a very social Sydney Royal as well as winning or placing in every class, couldn't have been more proud of our ponies!!
Bathurst Royal was definately one to remember, I don't think I have ever been so cold!! Canyon Samara was awarded Supreme Australian Pony Exhibit and Keyi Wildflower was Reserve Welsh B to the overall Supreme.
During the 2013 foaling season, we hand raised our first poddy foal, Canyon Wild Peach, who has gone on to be quite a personality in the paddocks! So this year we finally attended Hawkesbury Foal Show with Peach and Sebastian, and both came home with broad ribbons!
Looking forward to this years foals as always, and catching up with everyone around the shows...
