2011 News
The stud commenced in 1978 with the purchase of the Australian Pony Dranoel Desert Lass (Desert Star X Lowlynn Jenny), who was in foal to Brookdale Snow (Glenway Sunshine X Lumena Zara).  The result was our first filly Canyon Snowdrift.  Desert Lass produced many fillies & only one colt and her bloodlines are still in the stud today.  Several Australian stallions were used in the early days, Wandarra Mr Perkins (by Sir Percy of Paxhall(imp)), Greyholme Silver Beau, Bereen Hailstone (by Revel Hailstone(imp)) and Albyn Mario.
After moving to Manilla in 1993, after many quiet years with the ponies, we started showing & breeding again in earnest.  The Welsh B stallion Bolagamy Thatcher (Mirinda Sovereign X Eelah Baroness) was purchased and crossed extremely well with the Australian mares.  He has produced many prize winning stock over various breeds of mares.
We currently have 2 Welsh B stallions – Bolagamy Thatcher & Imperial Puccini by Eyarth Tigra(imp)  and 2 Australian Pony stallions – Buena Vista Talisman (Belvoir Zechin(imp) X Buena Vista Tiara and his son Canyon Sorrento Moon (from Wangatar Sophie).
We are breeding quality ponies with emphasis on movement and temperament.

We had a busy year in 2011.  On the showing front Imperial Puccini was Champion 2 & 3 year old colt against all Sections at the Welsh National Show & competed against Canyon Cherish for Best Section B Youngstock Exhibit at the NEB RPG Feature Show.  Puccini was Reserve Champion Stallion or Colt at Sydney Royal Show.  At the Northern NSW RPG Youngstock Show he was Supreme Welsh Exhibit in Ring 2.  During the winter Liz broke him in and lightly rode him.  Time permitting she will continue his saddle education through the winter months in 2012.

Our new filly purchased from Keyi Stud, Keyi Wild Flower was very successful winning Supreme Section B Exhibit at the Northern NSW Welsh Show held in Tamworth.  Wild Flower is a wonderful addition to the stud being a great-granddaughter of our old mare Eelah Wildflower and is a granddaughter of the beautiful Eadevale Wild Peach.
